1000 GUINEAS 1819

The 6th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Thursday 29th April 1819 over the Ditch Mile, was Catgut (20/1), a bay filly by Comus (or Juniper) out of Vanity, owned by the Duke of Grafton. A field of 7 runners contested the race which was worth 1900 Guineas (Equivalent to £150,000 in 2017)
